Tired

I am a bit tired today. I had a half day meeting with other GLC's CPO and a presentation to Management team on a project in the afternoon.

Later I drove back to play ping pong with a bunch of guys. Actually, we have sign up as competitors for the upcoming table tennis tournament. I know I am gonna get beaten up by the top players but I thought it would be fun.

Did I say beaten up? Slaughter would be a better word. TGIF!, Scooby will come out and play tomorrow.

Ice Cream

Today is the 31st July. Baskin Robbins has a sale. I brought my OneMH team to Subang Parade and treat them to ice creams. Yummy.

Letting go

Sometimes it is hard to let go of the thing that you like...very much. This is especially true if the relationship has lasted so long. This could happen between a boy and a girl. Or a boy and a boy Or a girl and a girl. This could ALSO happen to a boy and his car. LOL Take your pick.

Either way, we have to chose and have no regrets. Life move on with or without you.

Open conversation

It is hard to find people that you can be direct with. This evening before I went back, I was talking to a friend of mine and the subject of sex came up. So I asked "how's sex life?" to a friend of mine and half of the office started laughing.

I slipped! I should not be so uncouth. I was very lucky some of these guys understand me well. I am very lucky too that this friend of mine is an open minded person. Else, sexual harassment lar

Good Monday

After a tiring weekend, I took a day off on Monday. The intention was to relax and chill and I think the objective was met.

I had a long coffee session, a good lunch and followed by a trip to car showrooms. It maybe not any body's idea of relaxing but it's mine.

First, I hit Naza showrooms in Kg Baru and discovered that they have hundreds of Toyota Wish. It seems that they are selling like hotcakes.

Finding nothing interesting, I went to Glenmarie and test drove the new Audi A4. Nice car and the engine is surprisingly perky. They are selling at 235K and if you put 10%, your monthly payment is about 3K Yikes!!!!

Then I proceed to Porshe showrooms a stone throw away. They have cool cars and they have 1 GT2 (my dream car). It is white with roll cage bolt on and get this, you can customized and request for whatever spec you want. Bugger, for 1.7million, I'd better be.

Team Building Update #2

First thing on Saturday morning, we practiced abseiling [Abseiling (from the German: abseilen, "to rope down") is the process of descending a rope under control, used in rock climbing, mountaineering, ...]

I did the "Australian" (see second pic - of course the mat salleh is not me lar). Some of my team members cried cause they were scared. In the end, everybody did it. Now my team has new motto. No Fear.

Later that morning, some of my team members abseil down a waterfall. What a rush!

Valentine 1

No, nobody gave me flowers. I just got myself a radar detector! A friend (a consultant) from US drops by for a meeting last Friday and I asked him to buy me a Valentine 1. He did.

It's not cheap (USD400) but by my calculation, the ROI is about 2 years. The assumption is that in 1 year, I probably can get 3 speeding tickets. If each ticket is at RM300, that would be RM900 per year. Within < 2 years, it will pay itself back.

The guy who brought this for me is a racer as well. He owns a company and race his Ferrari Stradale (see above) for fun. He has 2. One for racing and another for driving to market. he he. Now, that's what I call life.

Team Building Update #1

I had a pretty decent weekend. I brought my team (half of my department) to Hulu Pangsun for team building activities. Most of my team left the office on Friday afternoon. I had a meeting with senior management team till 5pm, so I left shortly afterwards.

The first night, I can see the anxiety in my team. Some of them have never been to this 'unfamiliar' territory outside of their 'comfort zone'. After dinner, we were given briefing on "do's and dont's"

First activity was night jungle trekking. We were asked to go into the jungle without torchlights. We made a line and climbed up the hill in total darkness. I love it! It reminds me of my younger days in Hiking and Camping club. By now, my staff probably have cursed me hundreds of times LOL.

In the end, every body went down safely and the night ends at 12:30am. Will update more exciting stuff later.

Waiting for weekend

Wednesday is gone and Thursday is tomorrow. I am so looking forward to Friday and the weekend. This weekend I will be having team building session with my team. Some of them are worried of the 'hard work' they have to put in and the 'tough' environment they will be sleeping in.

To me, I always love nature. I love the jungle. It has a therapeutic effect. It calms me down.

Reflecting

Sometimes a person needs to reflect on the past in order to move forward. I need to do this by myself.

The best thing

The best thing about having money is that we can afford some nice things.

The bad things about having money is that we realize that it's always not enough

However, I would rather have money than not. So I have the latter problem.

Hands eye coordination

I suspect that I am down with something. Over the weekend, I curb my rims. Today, I play badly in my table tennis game. I realized I am having problems when I misjudged the distance between the ball and my paddle. This explains the curbed rims too. I misjudged the distance between the curb and my car.

What the hell is going on here?

Scratched..

Last night I curbed my Prodrive Rims. Bugger, I never thought I could be so careless. Now there are scratches on my blardy forged monoblock rims. Is god trying to tell me something? Maybe he wants me not to be too naughty or does he wants me to buy new car? I am listening...

Busy busy

As we grow older and gain more experiences (and 'baggage') we found ourselves hard to move quickly at a moments notice. I guess that's what 'stability' is all about.

On Monday, I was on leave and managed to find time to organized a small teh tarik session with friends. The main objectives are normally to play catch up. It is another way of saying we want to kepoh a bit.

So I called close to 8-9 friends I have not met for a while. Grace opted out as she got something planned and her calender for the month is full. Ah Kow FFK us last minute. Ah Mun is a bit under the weather and so is Uncle Looi. C misses her bf and wants to spend some with him. BJ car broke down and cannot make it as well.

So there we were, in a new place and drinking and eating and talking. It was nice. BTW, Ah Mun is pregnant!

Pay for sex?

I have just finished reading today's newspaper and found an interesting article. A columnist wrote about her female colleague that uses gigolo (male prostitute) on regular basis. This friend of hers mentioned that there are Malays and Chinese but she never found an Indian gigolo. She also said that Chinese always wear 'protection' while the Malay ones sometimes do.

The current rate is about RM200/hr. Sh*t!, that's not bad! I am in the wrong line of business lar!! (do the math 2 x RM200 x 20 days = RM8000). If you can increase productivity to 3 x daily, then you are in business LOL.

Anyway, I can understand her needs. She needs uncomplicated physical relationships and this is the best way. Another option for her is f**kbuddy (aka fubu). This option will save her tonnes of money but maybe the guys might lack in professionalism and face maybe like hulk lar. Also he might call her in the middle of the night telling her how he misses her and want to see her again and blah blah blah...

Good story. Who says newspapers are not entertaining?

Painting the wall

I was at Shangri La today for a conference. On my way up the elevator, I saw an interesting application of overhead projector. No, this is not a LCD Projector but the good old overhead projector that requires transparencies (remember those?)

Somehow, maintenance guys found a new application for this. What they wanted to do was to paint a logo for their restaurant in the basement. Instead of using templates or stencils, this guy was projecting the image onto the wall and paint directly! I thought that was smart and cool at the same time.

I am interested to know what other stuff we can do with it...

Why lar?

Why lar guys wear a polo shirt with collar lift up?

Look macho is it?
Wind so strong that your neck need protection is it?
Makes you look taller is it?

Idiot!

Love

A friend of mine mentioned to me that it is better for the man to love her more than she does of him. I am not too sure on the logic but apparently, the guy will 'work' harder in the relationship vs. if the women is more 'in love' with the guy.

Hmmm, there is some truth to this I believe.

Working at Airport

My meeting in Singapore is at 1pm and here I am working at Changi airport. There were 42 mails received yesterday that I need to read and respond. I am almost done.

Lots of drama and events happening at the office yesterday (based on the e-mails). I decided to switch off my blackberry as I want to be disconnected for a day. I put my phone on silent as well. So my staff was wondering what happened to me. LOL. Rest day la woi!

Believe it or not, I felt a bit guilty. Sh*t, I need to chill more. Maybe a trip to Bali will help...

Confession

It has been few weeks since I said no more mod for Scooby. I confess that I cannot tahan and had to do something to her. So today, I went to my fav mechanic and install a 'brake stopper'. Dun, worry if you go "huh?". Suffice to know that it makes the car stops better.

Ahhhh. I feel much better now. Thanks for listening.

Book Store

The best part of a bookstore to me is the stationery section. They have the best selection of notebooks, pens, stick on notes, highlighter, color pens, sharpeners (don't use one but they are still so cute) and others. Wonderful place.

When I was in school, the best days are when I can start a new notebook. The first page has to be perfect cause it will set a tone for the rest of the pages. (Yes, I was a bit anal then er..maybe still am)

In my office I have a stock of 'untouched' notebooks ready for a new chapter in it's life. Can't wait to work on the first page.

Eating and driving

I was having back to back meeting today and had to travel between KLIA and Subang during lunch. Due to the 45min gaps in between, I decided to eat Burget King meal while driving back to Subang.

That was a difficult task. It is very hard to eat chicken sandwich with fries and diet cola while driving. I was lucky I did not spill anything on my shirt as the sauce was meleleh all the way. Very messy la. It's like having sex when the women having her period....eeewwwwww...LOL

Title

I had a quick chat with a friend just now about his new job title. Jokingly, he said that his title is the "Head of Strategic and Tactical Unit" (STU) and he is working with "Head of Project Initiative Department" (PID). So if you put them together, you will get :

S.T.U.P.I.D

LOL.

Boss boss

I had discussion with my CEO the other day regarding a negotiation and to my surprise he came down to my place for it. I was a bit nervous la cause my room is kindda big (thanks to my previous boss).

So after the meeting, he went around my room and saw the model cars collection in my room and said "you like cars uh?". I said yes la. Lucky he did not comment anything else. phewww...

Wonder if...

Wonder if what you see in your dreams are similar in reality. Example, I dream of a nice house and in my dream, I saw the bedroom, the kitchen, the furniture etc etc. Wonder if I ever stumble upon the exact house, will the inside will be the same as my dream?

I also wonder if I see a friend in my dream wearing a bikini, would she look the same in real life? I don't know :P

Working Late

Of late, I have been working till quite late (no pun intended). My normal time would be around 8pm and my slightly above normal time is around 9pm. I realized that I am working my a$$ off but this is ridiculous.

Malaysian culture

I am seeing a new culture in Malaysia. I call this the 'jom ramai ramai kecoh' culture. You see, every time there is something happened, some people will protest. They will have a rally or gathering. Below is the list of rally I have heard or seen or read.

1) Protest/rally on fuel increase (many many and normally on Friday)
2) Protest/rally on judiciary issue
3) Protest/rally on Anwar sodomy
4) Protest/rally on toll increase
5) Protest/rally on rice price increase

Who are these people? Who would have that much time to protest about everything? Don't they have better things to do? What do they do for a living? Are these people 'professional' rally team? I heard people were given RM100 bucks each every time they went to rally/ceramah? Wah! no wonder lar.

Baby Shower

I just got back from a baby shower. Actually, this might be my first official baby shower cause nobody ever invited me for one. In my mind, baby shower normally are exclusively for female to attend and talk about what else, a baby. Nonetheless, I was there to my friend's new home.

Anyway, we had interesting conversation about celebrity and the latest gossips. I was dumbfounded when they talked about this artist and that artist. I have no clue who these people are (I am not into this Malaysia entertainment scene). So I heard this Malay artist sleeps with few guys, who is going out with which Dato' etc etc etc and I thought our Political scene was bad. I was amused for awhile. ;)

Car pool

Since the increase of fuel price, some of us in my organization practiced car pooling. In the last few days, I am working in KLIA and to reduce the cost we car pool. This morning I took out Scooby and picked up the auntie (the one who asked if I am married) and another colleague.

Our meeting was at 7:55am in KLIA therefore I drove fast la. Once we reached KLIA I parked my car, the auntie came out and asked my other colleague what car is scooby. I smiled. She said, it the fastest she ever experienced in a car.

Haha, I was tempted too say that I am better in some other areas as well (ehem) but refrain from doing so. I reserve those comments to my close friends.

BTW, I was driving at 220kp. :)

Vista sucks

I have a test notebook that's cool as well as suck. It's cool to have a Lenovo X61 series notebook as it is very small. It sucks cause Vista is unstable. Last night, I spent 2 hours with IT guys trying to download my mail.

The moral of the story: Like anything in life, there is always a price.

JPJ Operation

Lately, Subaru friends have been sending sms to inform me (a bunch of us) the latest location of JPJ roadblock. These guys are doing it to ensure none of us will get caught with tinted glasses, loud exhaust, modded engine and HIDs (to name a few).

This reminds me of The Star news sms some of us subscribe to (which I did not). This community spirit is catching on. I figure the next sms chain will be about the cheapest ayam per kilo in which supermarket..or the latest location where someone's potential chicken bf was sighted...LOL

Politician and Politics

I am amazed with the amount of circus we are experiencing in Malaysia. We have PKR who will reduce oil price if they take over the country (They must know something that the rest of blardy world don't know, must very smart fella lar). We have BN who are still trying to get their act together after being 'bruised' during the election (Shit happened, get on with your life la). We then have bloggers who are putting their thoughts and are making waves by being heard (everybody wants to be the voice of the people or everybody wants more hits to their blog?)

My question is this. Who the f**k is running the country and do the right thing for Malaysian? It is like watching World Wrestling Federation fight in the ring. We have team in blue corner and another team in red corner. They are whacking each other silly in the ring. People like us are watching from the outside and asked ourselves who the hell elect these jokers? Oh oh, wait a minute...it's US. Jokes on us.

Does it matter?

Today, while running a workshop (not the car workshop la but actual business workshop) a participant asked me if I am married or not. I was surprise to hear that question especially from an auntie.

My first thought was that she wants to match me with her 25year old daughter. Else I see no reason why people asked me that. What does marital status got to do with delivering results. LOL

How much do we need to retire?

When I retire, I need sufficient cash to indulge with my daily activities. So I have been calculating the amount of money I need to live for the rest of my life in peace.

Roughly, I would need RM5million cash in my fix deposit account to have a decent life. Based on a simple calculation of 3 percent return, this will come to 120K+ a year. That means 10K a month. That's not bad really.

However, if you look at the inflation rate, 10K in the future will have a spending power of 5K today. That's not much!

Skip again

I left office quite early today with an intent to go to gym. I drove out, saw the traffic jam at Subang exit and decided I am NOT going to go to gym today.

My next attempt will be tomorrow. Hopefully, there will be less traffic. I have not been to gym for a couple of weeks. I can feel my tummy turning to jello. hehe
