30 mins at Orchard Road
I was in Singapore recently and had the opportunity to lepax at Orchard Road on saturday night. Within 30 minutes of my lepaking, I saw 2 Lambo, 3 Honda Civic Type R, a Rolls Royce, 2 Nissan GTR and a whole bunch of sports cars imaginable. Amazing.
The only car I believe yet to be seen on Orchard road is the Bugati Veyron. Now, that's a sight to sore eyes.

Conference
One of the best thing about being in a conference is the ability to network with fellow peers globally. The knowledge sharing sessions are beneficial if you participate actively.
The bad side of a conference is the amount of food they provide. Enormous, maybe can feed a whole village in Kampung Baru LOL. The worst thing is you have to listen the next presenter or have the next discussion with a full stomach. Now, that's tough.

How to Maintain a Healthy Level of Insanity
Got it in my email. something fun I would do myself. LOL
How to Maintain a Healthy Level of Insanity
1. At Lunch Time, Sit In Your Parked Car With Sunglasses on and point a Hair Dryer At Passing Cars. See If They Slow Down.
2. Page Yourself Over The Intercom. Don't Disguise Your Voice.
3. Every Time Someone Asks You To Do Something, Ask If They Want Fries with that.
4. Put Your rubbish Bin On Your Desk And Label It 'In'.
5. Put Decaf In The Coffee Maker For 3 Weeks. Once Everyone is Over Their Caffeine Addictions, Switch to Espresso.
6. In The Memo Field Of All Your cheques, Write 'For Smuggling Diamonds'
7. Finish All Your sentences with 'In Accordance With The Prophecy'.
8. Don t use any punctuation
9. As Often As Possible, Skip Rather Than Walk.
10. Order a Diet Water whenever you go out to eat, with a serious face.
11. Specify That Your Drive-through Order Is 'To Go.'
12. Sing Along At The Opera.
13. Go To A Poetry Recital And Ask Why The Poems Don't Rhyme?
14. Put Mosquito Netting Around Your Work Area And Play tropical Sounds All Day.
15. Have Your colleagues address You By Your Wrestling Name, Rock Bottom.
16. When The Money Comes Out The ATM, Scream 'I Won!, I Won!'
17. When Leaving The Zoo, Start Running Towards The car park, Yelling 'Run For Your Lives, They're Loose!!'
18. Tell Your Children Over Dinner. 'Due To The Economy, We Are Going To Have To Let One Of You Go.'

Watches
I am thinking of buying a nice watch. A definition of a NICE WATCH differs from one person to the other. In the past, I always thought a Swatch is a nice watch. I had many Swatches but I discovered that they are not meant to be long lasting. I think I had like more than 10 in the past. All except 1 is still with me.
Currently I am wearing the most expensive watch I could ever muster to pay. It cost about RM500 +. I use this watch every freaking day. I have 3 but I only use this one daily. I had it for 1.5 years already. Other than changing the strap (I tore it once), it is fine.

I am thinking of 'investing' on a new watch. Maybe a Tissot Touch or something like that. I do not need it too flashy or expensive (relative right?) cause I always scrape my watches against a wall of something (hey, I am a manly man...hehe)
It's funny that I would buy Scooby's ECU at Rm3800 just like that *snapping my fingers* but finding it hard to buy a watch that's more than 1K. If only I could find a watch that can get me closer to hot ladies...maybe, just maybe I will buy it :-P

No Substitute
There is no substitute for experience and skill. A friend of mine drove his Proton Satria Neo to Ulu Yam this morning. He is a part-time racer and has competed in many competition.
To my amazement, I had a hard time trying to catch him at those windy road. I have to push very hard just to catch up!
There is really no substitute for experience and skill.

Addicted to...

Just got back from Sunday drive again As usual, it was a good drive. 9 cars went and all safely returned. At our destination, met Saifol from Maxis with his Beemer friends having roti canai. Small world.
In the last few years, I have been active with this group of friends and been driving hundreds of km with Scooby. I have spent a small fortune to make Scooby faster and better. I believe that I have found my purpose....heheh...not really la but maybe my passion. Can't stop now already. I am addicted!

Teh tarik session
There was a mini TT last night. After dinner, I drove to Ampang Point to the rendezvous point and managed to got lost. Embarrassing but true. The place is called Suzi's Corner and highly recommended by Subaru guys. It opens till late like (4am), food is cheap and the 'view' is good.
After a phone call, I managed to get there at 11:30pm. The place is truly at a corner....la... I thought it was just a name! Next to it is a 24hr car wash where Subaru guys always wash (at ungodly hour) their car and park as well.
I left the place at 3am while the guys still chat about engine blocks and specifications. Amazing to what detail guys can talk about their passion. If only they focus on their girlfriends with that energy, she will be a happy camper.

Reading
I am in the mood for reading again. This mood of mine fluctuate over the years. There was once a time I would rather clean a toilet then read a good book. Then there is a time when I would switch off tv just read my favorite books. A bit consistently inconsistent.
I don't know. I may have attention deficit disorder (ADD). Maybe I am just being human. I get bored easily.
However, there is one thing that's constantly always gets my attention. It's cars. I can't get enough of it. I like buying it, driving it and changing it (tune it). It gives me a great sense of adventure. I like women too but that's reserve for another blog...

What you can do with your spoiler
Post Office
The last time I set my foot into a Post Office is when I had to get my tax rebate for my car. Else I would not use their services directly. I have no mails to post, no package to sent, no stamps to buy and no bills to pay at the post office.
I use maybank2U for paying bills. I send packages via Fedex or DHL. For mails....err...I have no need for snail mail (for now).

Spoilers
Ah Tung told me than my spoiler is damaged beyond repair and that I have to buy a new one. He quote me RM600 for it. Whoaaa...that's expensive.
I went on the net and soon after I managed to get contact from R3 (Proton motorsports division). I gave them a call and true enough they can get me the parts for RM381. They gave 30% discount. Wohoo..I just saved over 200 bucks.

Boring Meeting
I had one of the most boring meeting today. It was so boring, I managed to reply all my mails via my blackberry. It was so boring that I had a separate sms conversation with a friend sitting across the room. That was hilarious. He wants a machine gun to stop this meeting ...LOL

New Sports
Sports I would like to see in future Olympics:
1) Nagging
How fast a women can their spouse to death.
2) Shopping
How much a women can rack up the bill in 10 minutes in Pavilion (for example)
3) Hotdog eating
They have it in US already and the past champion was a skinny Japanese guy
4) Channel changing
How fast a guy can change the channel via the remote. Accuracy and speed are important.
5) Driving SMSing
We all have done this! Speed and accuracy determines the score. The speed of the car should be at least 80kph! :)
These are some of the sports I could think of tonight. Feel free to add more sports in the comments he he.

Fav Sport

Olympics is well underway. If you have Astro (I know one of you who still do not subscribe!), you can tune in to channel 816-822 to get the latest action. I discovered few sports that I am starting to like already......being the active person that I am.
I am starting to like Women Beach Volleyball. Have you watched it? Very nice. I like the uniform....or is it a version of a bikini? I don't know and I don't care. LOL
The second one is Fencing. yes, fencing. The sport is very fast and the tip of the blade must touch the opponent's body for a score. Actually, I have yet to decipher the scoring system but it's fun to watch. It is so fast that the referee needs slow mo playback to ensure who scored first.
The third sport is Basketball. This year, US team is so very strong that they can almost dunk at will against weaker opponent. I watch the game between US and China and it was one sided. China lost as expected. They (US team) called themselves the 'The Redeem Team'. They did not win in the last 2 Olympics lar so this year they wanna redeem themselves. Let's see how that goes.
I could go on with many other sports but I will stop here at risk of you getting bored :)
Forgeting
I must be getting more 'mature'. I tend to forget lots of things lately. I forgot meetings, the meeting locations, the purpose of the meetings and so on. That's work related. In the non-work related activities, I forgot to fix some stuff, buy pants, pay bills and other stuff.
Maybe as we get older, lots of things distract us unlike when you are a kid. Maybe, our brain deteriorate links were 'severed' as we age. I don't know what it is but I am getting to be forgetful.
As a kid, all I want to do was to go out and play with friends or play with my Game&Watch (Nintendo's for kids today). No bills to pay, no bosses to please, no spouse/gf to manage, no fuel to pay...you get my drift. I wanna be a kid again!

For Fun

Upon recommendation by Grace, I will buy 4D numbers this week. Yes, last Friday was a bad day for me and I hope I will hit jackpot to cover for my car body work. Actually I cannot not buy la so I asked a friend to buy it for me.
Funny thing is, I have no clue how this thing works. As far as I know now, there are 3 companies you can buy numbers from. Toto, Magnum and somebody I cannot remember. The return of 'investment' can range hundreds to thousands - if kena lar. Then they add this complication of Big and Small thing. Again, I have no clue what that means.
The odds are humongous I know. Let's hope for the best and plan for the worst.
Expensive repair
The workshop quote me quite expensive for the Gen2 repair. They quote me RM1.1K for the damage. ~RM400 for fixing the dents and ~RM600 for painting the damage area. It's ridiculous.
I am thinking of claiming the insurance for it.

Pain...

My body especially my right hand is aching. Today, I played in MAS closed Table Tennis Tournament. I registered for single and double event. Why? I have no idea, I thought it would be fun to play play with some friends.
How wrong I was. there were serious people with serious paddle with serious spin seriously! There guys practices almost daily and they are young. They call me 'uncle' instead of 'abang' ROFL.
My personal goal for today was to win 1 match in singles and 1 in double. I actually only lost 1 game in singles and managed to squeeze into semi-final. In semi, I played against MAS #1 and as expected, I lost. End of story.
In double, the competition is very fierce. Very strong team played and as expected, we won only 1 game. Ok lar considering these people are very serious about Table Tennis.
I am home now with a sore right arm from smashing too much cause I still think I am a young man. It was a tiring day.

8/8/8 Most Unlucky For Me
All over the world, people are celebrating the 8th August 2008 as it is thought to be a very good and auspicious day. Today, lots of people registered their marriages today. Olympic started today too.
I would have to say the universe conspire against me today. All the good luck went to everybody else and the bad luck was focused to ME!
The story started this morning. I was trying to start Scooby and her battery is dead. Crap! So, I took my gen2 key to jump-start scooby. I reversed the car and I heard a loud sound!!!! sh*t, I reversed into a stationary dumpster. Double crap!! The bumper, spoiler and boot kemek! There goes few hundred bucks.
Anyhow, I still managed to jumped-start scooby and went to work. In the afternoon, I took Scooby to workshop for new battery and oil change as I have a 180km hard driving session. This was followed by a RM700 bill.
In the evening, the universe conspire against me as another idiot (a Chinese auntie this time. Last time was an indian man) drove into Scooby rear bumper. My car was stationary and shoe drove straight into my car. She then has the cheek to say that I stopped. WTF, it was traffic jam lar, think my car can jump up and let her pass is it? Aiyo, it was hard to tell this auntie as she cannot speak english properly and kept telling me my bumper is ok. Scratches only so no need to pay. Sh*t sh*t sh*t. So I got a good friend of mine to talk to her in chinese la. In the end she managed to nego RM150 payment for me.
What the hell is going on here god! 2 cars in the same day? This is just too much. Nobody is this unlucky. Nobody.
10pm, I put My Gen2 MME Edition up for sale in Gen2 forum. God is telling me to chill on my car obsession. Do something else for a change maybe. I will take up fishing...

Collector's Garage
I had a meeting with Idris this morning to discuss about a contract negotiation. After an hour long meeting we started talking about the business and suddenly he said he has model cars to give to me. I was like 'huh?'
He said, he used to work in Shell and people gave him this Shell Ferrari Garage for free. He thought I would like it more as he is not into cars.
An hour later his Manager came down and gave me this. He said, "in exchange for the 200M target, Idris gave you this"....aiyo...kena lagi!
Anyhow, the cars are part of my room deco already. It is a reminder that I owe him. LOL

Told you so...
Have you heard about the lie detector today (oops, yesterday) morning? The wife put the secretary on the hot seat and she crumble at the end of the show. Kesian, sometimes ignorance is bliss. Truth hurts.
Relationship or marriage is hard. I am no saint nor am I a marriage counselor, but fact is, it's damn hard to maintain a good relationship. I recommend that both sides remain calm and talk it out. If you decide that splitting is the best decision, then go ahead la. No need to be dramatic. Life goes on.
(keh keh keh....own problem cannot solve, still want to advice people!)

Being used
I realized that people invited me to meetings to 'use' me. Felt like a gigolo only without the pleasure part LOL.
I guess we all use each other for different purposes. It is a fact. You are either using other people to get things done or being used to get things done. Either way, you kena.

Lie Detector
I have a radar detector but I will not try on a lie detector in a million years. I have secrets. I have deep dark secrets that only me should know. This mix fm thing is peaking my interest. Why would people risk getting hurt for a mere RM1000.
Is it worth it when a gf knows what the bf did or did not do?
Is it worth it when a wife ask her husband's secretary to tell the truth?
Is it worth Rm1000?
NOT!
Is it worth it when a gf knows what the bf did or did not do?
Is it worth it when a wife ask her husband's secretary to tell the truth?
Is it worth Rm1000?
NOT!
Should I ...
..or should I not. I dunno!. One one hand, I SHOULD cause it's fun and on the other hand I SHOULD NOT cause it might hurt somebody.
What am I babbling about? I dunno, you guess lar.
What am I babbling about? I dunno, you guess lar.
Have fun
I have a life philosophy that in everything I do, it should have some fun elements (in it). Else, there would be no reason to do it.
Take for example, my work. It's tough. It's damn tough but I managed. I think it is 'fun' to go through the s*it and emerged unscathed. I know it's not gonna kill me if I fail.
So, I am making a list of thing perceived to be fun by me.
1) Spirited driving with friends on Sunday morning of Friday nights
2) Blog
3) Bungee jumping
4) Abseiling
5) Coffee and it's aroma
6) Good sex (who does not think that's fun?)
7) Having good dinner/lunch with good friends
8) Having a good chat with friends
9) 'Bird' watching
10) Car window shopping
The list above is not ranked in any particular order.
Life is too short, have fun.

The Bank Job

I was kindda bored yesterday and dive into my DVD collection for some r&r. Found this DVD I have yet to watch "The Bank Job". I remember the title cause a movie supplier for our Inflight Entertainment System mentioned that there is high 'sex content' thus cannot be shown on our planes although it is a good movie.
Sexual content...check
Good movie...check
Just the motivation a man needs. I agree, it's a good movie.
Laziness
...if there is such a word. It is Sunday and I am freaking lazy to do any work. Hopefully in a few hours time I will be able to start cracking....

Good Friday Night Drive
It was a good Friday night drive. We all met at normal rendezvous point (RV) at 9:30 and by 10pm, there were over 35-36 cars. One uncle bought his 2 days old Ferrari along instead of his Subaru Spec C. Sweet car!
We drove to Putrajaya Lake Club (I think lar) via Tun Razak and to the new Cyberjaya Highway. It felt like Gumball Run with 40 speedy Subaru's and 1 'Felali' running at 200+ kph on the baby smooth highway tarmac. I swear at one point we reach 230-240kph speed. It was a fantastic run!
We reached the lake club but the restaurant captain said they were closed. Bummer. But, after seeing the crowd, they decided to open just for us (hurray!!!!)
So we talk cock and talk cock some more....There are more special edition Subaru's compared to my Scooby that mine has become 'rare' within this crowd...and the cheapest ...LOL.
It was a good night by my standard. I drove home with Valentine 1. No speed trap was detected..hehe

Funnies
The cycle of missing goes like this in Malaysia;
Get Vietnamese workers, dogs missing.
Get Bangladeshi workers, Malay girls missing.
Get Indonesian workers, money missing.
Get Indian workers, jewellery missing.
Get Chinese workers, husbands missing.
Call the police, the evidence goes missing,
Call the lawyers, the judge go missing,
Call the ministry of transport, the reports go missing
Change the government, funds go missing,
Say something and you may be missing
