I am addicted

I took scooby out for a drive yesterday. This was mainly due to a back to back meeting in Subang and KLIA with 30minute window of travel.

In the afternoon I drove to KLIA and I was a bit fast in some parts of the highway. I was driving up to 200km/hr at some stretch especially after paying the KLIA toll going to my office.

Coming back, I was suppose to meet some friends in Curve and on the way back from KLIA office there were too many cars on the road. A Volvo gold color S80 followed my car closely but due to the heavy traffic I was not able to run away from him. I managed to reach 200km/hr at some point too....heheheh

After dinner, I drove back and guess what, I hit 200 on section on highway to Shah Alam.

I realised that I am addicted to speed and I need help. I need professional help. No, not the Psycho Analyst type, but the Racing Driver Class kind of help.... hahahaha

Accident

In the morning I was trying to upload a picture into Superwall in Facebook. Of course being a tech savvy person I thought it was a simple process. It was not!

I wanted to load an animated gif file but they would not allow it for whatever reason. So I tried various ways to get this up and at some point I accidentally selected a wrong picture to be uploaded. Bas*ard. I thought I had chosen a picture of a friend and posted it on Superwall for everyone to see.

Feeling a bit embarrassed (for not knowing how I did what I thought I did), I called this friend of mine to apologize for accidentally posting her picture. Lucky it was not a compromising kindda picture and lucky she is cool about it.

Afterwards, I checked with few friends nearby and they said nothing was posted. phew.....tu la, mak kata jangan main masa kerja.....

Three..again

After talking about 3 cars every man needs in my earlier blog, I just came to realise that I have 3 mobile phone numbers. How did that happened???

Well, I first got a mobile phone in 1995 ( I think). It was a big phone but small by those days standards. It was cool to carry those huge phones around cause not many people has it. It was a motorola flip phone with Celcom 010 line. Remember those days...I get nostalgic pulak keh keh

To cut the story short, I have an old Celcom number that headhunters use to call me (still). I have a relatively new Celcom numbers a few years ago due to proliferation of 3G services and recently, I add another mobile number from my company blackberry. This time it is from Maxis.

All in all, I need 3 cars and have 3 phone numbers. Next, threesome maybe?......keh keh keh.....

Cheap cheap

I was in Alor Setar over the weekend. Tesco has recently et-up shop there. So does Big Apple Donuts (yummy). Anyway, I have to say that the DVDs are damn cheap in the north. I got 6 DVDs for 30 bucks. That's 5 bucks a piece. Damn cheap.

It hurts

Some decisions in life are easier to make but harder to 'undo'. Case in point would be to spend a lot of money on something like an expensive car/house. The decision to buy this car/house is an easy one as appose to selling this car/house later on. Depreciation comes into play. Emotion comes into play. Effort you put into the car or house is a factor as well.

Not unlike buying a car/house, decision we made going into a relationship is easy, the decision we need to make to undo the relationship is hard. That is life I guess. We only live once and should live with no regrets if ever possible.

Three

No one person or product is an absolute all rounder. There are strengths and there are weakness in each of the product/person. This lead me to think about cars (what else). Current I owned 2 cars. One for going to work and another to release stress. With most people, these would be more than enough. For me, it is just the beginning.

I did some thinking and I have reached an unsettling conclusion. I need at least 3 cars to satisfy my needs. The first car is for daily car use. This is tool of choice for grocery runs and going to work on most days. This car has to be cheap to run and cheap to fix. It should be relatively fast and comfortable. The first car is called My Daily Drive. Examples would be Proton R3 version or Suzuki Swift Sport.

The second car I need to have is a fast point-to-point car. It should be the weapon of choice to disturb the neighborhood (just kidding!)..I meant a weapon of choice to drive on track and on twisty and winding road on weekends. It should have enough horsepower to 'disturb' some supercars and handling that's almost Lotus perfect. The second car is called My Sports Car. A perfect example would be the likes of Subaru Impreza, Mitsubishi Evo, Lotus Exige or my personal favourite and bank-breaking Porsche GT2 (RM1.7mil last time I checked)

The last type I wish I have is a grand tourer. It is something for me to use on long drives to balik kampung (if not flying). It needs to be comfortable and fast at the same time. Hopefully it can carry at least 5 pax comfortably and can still go. The third car is called My Touring car. Some fine examples are BMW M5 Wagon, Merc Kompressor, Volvo and Audi's

:) I realized that I am insatiable. Well, cars drives me (no pun intended), what drives YOU?

RM888,888

This car is priced at RM888,888. For this price, I could have:
1) A semi-detach house for RM500K
2) Decorate the house for another RM100,000 (Not renovate)
3) Buy Honda Civic Type R for RM200,000
4) Still got some money to go for a glorious holiday RM88,888

I want one...

Reality TV

Everyday I am tortured by reality tv like the amazing race, contender, contender asia, american idol, apprentice, fear factor, who wants to be a superhero, big brother, the last comic standing, who wants to be a millionaire, blah blah blah.

I used to like watching some of the series but after a while I gave up. There are too many of them and some are not funny or interesting at all. I want to watch something that's really funny or scary as sh*t

So given the money to produce reality series, it would probably be like this:

1) Who wants to be the next Chua So Lek? (wrong spelling I know)!
2) Are you faster than a speeding bullet? (it would be a very short series)
3) Malaysia Idiots (doing stupid stunts like changing lane without giving signal)

Hope to see some of these in the future...

Couple of theories

I have a couple of theories on my gout situation.

Theory # 1 : Roti sardin on Sunday night contributed to my problem
As mentioned in earlier post, Subaru guys decided to drive to Senawang to have dinner and my dinner was Roti Sardin. It was damn good but not as healthy as Sardines are know to have high purine content which contributed to more uric acid.

Theory # 2 : Go karting is hazardous to my health in more ways than one.
Doc asked me what vigorous exercise I had over the weekend. As far as I know, I did nothing too excessive. Then Go Karting cross my mind. I was driving flat out on a go kart with no suspension and vibrates like hell. Doc told me that sometimes, some problematic joints may be 'disturbed' that uric acid started to crystallized soon after.

Lucky some activities like love making and going to gym are not considered 'vigorous' enough. Else, I will be having gout every week ( due to gym lar...)

In a lot of pain

I woke up this morning with an inflammation on my right foot toe. I realize this familiar pain a few minutes later. Oh sh*t, I gonna get Gout again. This is going to hurt.....bad.

What is Gout? A disease created by build up of uric acid in joints. When the uric acids crystallized and get into your joints, it hurts because the crystals are rubbing on cartilage. The pain may not be similar to giving birth but I believe it close up there. When I drive, I do not feel like pressing the brake cause the pain is excruciating. That's how painful it was.

Unfortunately, I had a training session to give and I went to work anyway. By afternoon the pain got so bad I had to visit company doctor. Doc gave me painkillers and some steroid to reduce the inflammation. I took the painkillers first of course and the pain slowly went away. I LOVE PAINKILLERS....I love you...I love you....muuuah.

Finally I can walk properly and not be ridicule by colleague who kept on asking what's wrong and then replied, "but you are too young to get Gout". Ya ya ...tell it to my foot...

New Home

I have decided to get professional help to do my new house. The concept is very simple. I am a freaking busy man. I have no capacity to think about how this house is gonna look like. I hate shopping for house stuff and I am not that color coordinated kindda person. I need somebody to show me some concept and I can chose. Now that's nice.

In my work, I always advocate to outsource my non-core functions to people who's core is my non core. (get it?). Can you imagine me making my own roti canai? or cooking nasi lemak? Kebulor la. Let mamak do the roti and let this makcik do the nasi lemak.

Moral of the story is this: I know I suck in many things, so I need help.

Kena Belasah

Friday night after coffee with friends, I drove back home. On the way back, Is spotted a pair of headlight coming fast from Subang. I was not in the mood la so I went to the left lane to let him pass.
Scooby must have an effect on him and he tailgated me. I was like curious so after the sharp corner under the federal highway I put pedal to the metal. Sh*t, can't shake him. In fact he was faster and keep on coming fast. Relising I am way above my head here I let him overtook me.

No wonder la! the bro was driving a souped up Evo 8. of course scooby kena belasah. keh keh keh.

Busy Weekend

My weekend has been busy. Friday, I had coffee with friends. Sunday, me and subaru guys drove all the way to Senawang to have dinner. After dinner, we decided to go to Cyberjaya for coffee. Monday, a bunch of subaru friends went for go carting in shah alam.

I am tired. I need another day to recover hehehehe

Expensive water

A bottle of Evian water with limited edition bottle cost RM29.90 (0.75 liter). It is more expensive than a liter of petrol. As of today, 1 liter of petrol is RM1.92. It is also more expensive than 1 kilo of beras. 1 kilo of beras is roughly RM1.60-180. Even a kilo of cooking oil is RM2.50.

Wah, this is too much already la!

Which Ministry

If you were to be in politics and were asked which ministry you would like to tadbir, what would it be?
1) Ministry of Home Affairs?
2) Ministry of Finance?
3) Ministry of Transport?
4) Ministry Culture, Arts and Tourism?
5) Ministry of Education?
6) Ministry of Agriculture?
7) Ministry of Works?
8) Ministry of Sound (eh, got ah?)

For me it will be Ministry of Transport cause I could...

1) Increase the speed limit to 'no limit'. So we will have Slow Lane, Middle Lane AND Get Out Of My Way Lane.

2) Remove toll charge but have " I will not throw stones on your windscreen" protection money.

3) Built more personal airport for my rich friends. Charge them landing fee, parking fee, electric supply, water supply, maintenance and stuff at ridiculously high rate. Too expensive is it? I am sure you will change your mind when your fuel is dangerously low and you need to land!! he he.

4) Tax deduction on income to modify cars. The faster the car, the better cause they spend less time on the road thus reduce congestion. Slower car must pay higher taxes.

New project

I have been thinking of a new project to fill up my time this year. No, this is not project pak toh but real one lar. I have done all modification I can on scooby (leaving a few expensive one for later when I have more moolas).

I have been thinking and here are the list of potential new projects:

1) Furnish my new house (which is currently empty). The theme is 'cosy'
2) Mod my Gen 2. I am thinking of supercharging the bugger and give it a name. Maybe call her Genny (sounds like jenny). So good ar? Scooby and Genny.
3) Get new gadget and mod it. iPhone comes to mind.
4) Go into politics - I will die. Got too many secrets and speeding ticket

What else ar?

ice cream tikam

They don't have it any more. When I was at school, there was this uncle who sold ice cream in a cone. Nothing unusual really unless you notice that you can play tikam at the same time.

This is how it works, you pay 20cents for an ice cream in a cone. He then allows you to turn a wheel with marked prizes on it. Where the wheel stops in relation to the marker, will indicate if you had won another come of ice cream or 2 scoops of ice cream or nothing at all.

Most of the time you will get your 20cents worth of ice cream but once in a while, you will get another one for free. That's the fun part. I wonder why Setarbucks kopi cannot use the same concept.

New iPod

Am thinking of getting new ipod for myself. So here are a list of justifications on why I can give myself a present:

1) iPod is too expensive to be given as presents (so I did not get any la)
2) I like hearing music while getting some work done
3) My current iPod is 5 years old and the battery kong already
4) I want black color ipod vs. current lime green to compliment my car color
5) Current 900 songs have maxed out my ipod
6) Because I like nasi lemak
7) Because it rains after I wash my car
8) Aiya, just because lar

That much!!!!!!

I went for Subaru TT last night and surprise surprise the secret location was in Shah Alam. That was pretty convenient. As usual, we all chit chat about cars and mods and one of our members are going to the extreme.

He has a limited edition Subaru S204 (only 500 were made and last night, 3 of those were at the TT location!!!!!). Anyway, we were talking about mods and he mentioned that he is changing his brakes. He is changing to ....... wait for it ........12pot front brakes!!!!!

Let me educate you a bit. All Proton have 1 pot front brakes (called single pot). Sports cars like Subaru and Porsche normally have 4 pot front brakes (6 pot for high end production sports car).

This guy is going to install 12pot brakes that will cost a whopping RM28,000!!!!!!! . Each man to his own I guess. I am also guessing that harga beras naik is not an issue to him as well LOL

Batik

Finally I managed to get a Batik shirt for 'formal' dinner and weddings and event of such magnitude. It is pretty expensive I must say. The last time I own one was during my first job. I didn't like the design but it was ok. I threw it away 5 or 6 years ago as I grew is size and taste.

I could have bought an oil catch tank for scooby but I decided to splurge on Batik shirt. I am getting old.

Workshop again

I probably spent 1 percent of my life at workshops. Today, it cost me 3 hours. Last week, it cost me about 3 hours as well.
I probably spent more time at the workshop then go pangsai or make love or sitting at my work desk. Now that's a thought!
Now if i could re direct this time to something else, what would that be? Hmmmmm.........

WTF - Part 3 (to power of infinity)

Now these guy talking about who they have slept with :P if only I could laugh out loud without raising any suspicion. Kah kah kah. I love this s*it.

So the story is this:
1) The chinese guy (C) has another bf
2) The kwailo (K) is talking to him about what he does (getting to know each other now)
3) K talked about how he hates leaving the dishes overnight in the sink
4) C said he like to leave it in the morning and wash it at night
5) K said he did not sleep with his ex anymore as his ex has another bf
6) K said he still in contact with his ex in US

LOL LOL LOL

WTF - Part 2

The loud mat saleh and a chinese guys next to me are blardy gays. They are talking about relationships and s*it. This is damn dramatic. Have you ever heard gay guys argue about relationships before. Well I have now.

This is hilarious. I heard about a girl trying to leave her boyfriend to go for another guy but one gay asking another if he can break up with another guy. This is good sh*t. Will keep you posted if there are new development.

WTF - Part 1

WTF, Americans are known for their boisterous voice and familiar accent. The thing is, it irritates the hell out of me when I am at a next table and the freaking mat saleh speaks so loud that even people in Timbuktu can hear him.

Even more irritating when he said "I don't drink coffee cause the coffee manufacturer got paid pittance for their products...blah...blah...blah". So, what the hell are you doing in a coffee shop if you are not drinking coffee!!!!!!

Shut the f**k up will ya. There is such thing as a 'personal space' and you are intruding mine. IDIOT

Inside of a car

I can't stand a dirty car. I always have the urge to wash my car at least once a week. I know that the paint work will not tahan but I cannot tahan if the car is dirty. So naturally scooby will be washed once a week and I have a contract with some guy from India to wash my Gen2 3 times a week.

After 5 years, I need to re-paint scooby la cause the paint work will calar a lot after being washed hundreds of times.

BTW, the picture above is for the benefit of my female readers. Enjoy!

Am Back

Finally the course is over. Finally I can blog again. Finally I have to come back to reality. Finally I don't have to eat breakfast/morning tea/lunch/afternoon tea/dinner/supper all in one day.

Boring Life

When I graduated way back when, not many companies would like to hire a Chemist as an employee. At one point, I did consider being a drug dealer cause some of my research buddies in US created recreational drug that's been used widely (this was the side effect of having coop up in labs day in day out). I, on the other hand decide to go home (back to Malaysia). If I chose to work with my friends, I could have been a millionaire by now, driving a Porsche, having a bungalow, have a thropy wife maybe and travel round the world (running away from Interpol I presume).

But, I chose to do honest work for an honest pay. So now I have a blog that's boring, working 9 to 5, have not so interesting life (wink-wink) BUT not running away from authorities. Come to think of it, it's not bad of a life after all.

Sometimes we say "if only I did that, I would have .....". I say, "if my grandmother have balls, she would be my grandfather" Kah..kah..kah

Hiatus

I am on 5 day training from Monday onwards. New post will be intermittent. Sorry guys

Hot pants are back?

I was reading newspaper just now and stumble upon an article about hot pants revival. It IS making a comeback and I can vouch for it. I discovered this today.

A couple of friends of mine and myself were having lunch at Curve today. Afterwards, we lepak_ed at setarbaks kopi shop. It turn out to be a wise decision. Curve has to be one of the best afternoon birdwatching sites around. 'Bird'watching...hehehe.....get it?

Coming back to the article, it is true. There are so many ladies wearing hot pants today. Some looked good, some looked so-so but some should definitely wear long pants. I was just enjoying my afternoon with a friend while enjoying the view.

Life is good :)

Hottie & Notti

I was bored and I bought Paris Hilton new movie "The Hottie & The Notti". It's kindda a stupid yet it has Paris Hilton! Ok..ok.. I am not her fan but you have to admit she is a hottie. In the last scene of the movie she was wearing this lingerie and man was she smokin'

If you look at a movie review, it was rated "0 / 100,000,000" score. Yes, it sucks but you can see Paris Hilton running in slow motion at the beach ala Baywatch!. That alone worth 5 bucks of the pirated DVD don't you think?

Power la

Wednesday was a friend's birthday and because I am cheap (not really la), I let her drive scooby. Personally, I am a bit scared when anybody drive scooby. Why? The amount of effort I have put in to develop and care for it is priceless. The setting is perfect for me and me alone.

Anyhow, Adlina drove scooby today. I told her to feel the power she should changed the gear only at 4-5K RPM. I am sure she had fun albeit a bit nervous. Hehe, I can see power corrupts. I am sure she enjoyed the ride.

So the next project is to mod her Honda Accord. First on the list is a Eibach lowering springs. Then change the rims to a more macho one. Once it is done, the handling is going to improve much.

Nice Pewter

I went to Bukit Tinggi on Wednesday for a workshop. One of the agenda was for me to present what we did in my company specifically on Procurement. I drove early morning enjoying the drive up. The road is narrow but I was full-on. Use 3rd gear most of the time. I was smiling when I reach the meeting place. There goes 1/4 tank of fuel.

I presented to the 21 GLCs present and they came away impressed. Eh, this is not masuk bakul angkat sendiri but it is true. The kind of work in my org was different compared to other GLCs. Khazanah gave me this for presenting our work. Cool. It is a Selangor Pewter Bamboo Box.

The drive back was good as well. I enjoyed every minute of it. I think the handling on Scooby needs refinement. Maybe anti-lift kit and few new bushes might be in order.

But but......I said no more mod right!!!!

Subaru STI Spec C vs Civic Type R

It is a consensus that Civic Type R is a fantastic car. A bunch of Subaru owners test drove the car and came away impressed. You can read it on this blog. Those bastards did not call me when they did this. Pretty upset but I guess I could not make it anyway due to some work commitment.

So I am thinking...maybe...hmmmmm

Lucky Me

It was 1am and I was on the way home on Federal Highway. As usual, after paying my toll using smart tag, I 'wack' scooby. A car behind me wanted to play and he tried to follow. Astala vista baby. he he he. I was way ahead when I decided to slow down.

The same brader from the toll 'cucuk' me from behind when he caught up with me one minute later. I was not interested.

Out of the sudden, a Toyota Vios 2 cars in front of me swerved to the left to avoid a dropped bumper on the fast lane. Yes, the bumper was from an accident few seconds earlier. The Myvi in front of me and myself were forced to swerved as well. Unfortunately, the Vios lost control of his/her car and hit the middle barrier and turn against traffic. His/her front end was badly damaged but we managed to avoid to the far left hence avoiding hitting with the Vios.

I was freaking lucky. Had I decided to speed up and play with the brader behind, I might not be writing this blog. Me lucky man indeed.
