Make a difference

I hope I make a difference on somebody or someone. We only live in this world a very short time. It is hard to make a difference if we do not consciously put an effort at it.

Making a difference could be the charity work we did. It could be the friendship we build and maintain. It could be how we treat our parents. It could be how we share our love with others.

To friends celebrating, Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri To others, do enjoy the holiday and the open houses

So this is how it feels like

I slept at 2:30am this morning and woke up at 10am today. This must be how it feels like to work from home. No alarm clock, no searching for parking, no going thru morning traffic, no tolls to pay. It felt weird.

Given the choice, I would not want to work from home as there are millions of meeting and decisions (exaggerate a bit) to be made. Being at home requires lots of discipline. Who is going to stop me from watching American Football or MTV? Nobody. Who is going to stop me from doing my work in my underwear or doing conference call naked!!! Ha ha nobody.

My Wet Dreams

You would have guessed it. It's not a naked Pamela Anderson on a bed that makes a good wet dreams. It's these picture below.....

Pretty Good

I had a pretty good weekend. There were some good things happening and some bad stuff too. I realized this week that I have it good. I have good staff, good boss and good friends. In the past, I could have sworn that I received less than 10 birthday wishes. This year, there were lots.

For the first time in many years, friends sang me a birthday song complete with candles....so embarrassing but sweet gesture. Oh, wait...the same group of friends sang me a song last year :-) See see...I am already forgetful..must be the age.

Cuti Cuti Malaysia

I am clearing my leave so I am taking days off till Tuesday week after next. Finally I can catch up with some personal stuff and some friends. Update to this blog could be intermittent. Sorry about that.

Bad day

My car (scooby) got clamped today in my own apartment compound. It was my fault, so no issue there. I paid the fine of 50bucks. However, when I was explaining to the guard, I discovered that his boss was a bit rude. No matter what I say, his words are the law regardless of my explanations. The way he argue, belittle me to no end. I was upset for a minute. Then, it got me thinking.

Here is a guy who is like 55-60 years old, working as the boss and treating me like a child. I can see how his mind is creating his 'absolute' truth conclusions about me. He probably thought this young guy did not give him enough respect or do not know anything.

I realized that it's not his fault. For the past 50-60 years, his environment treated him probably the same as others but in his mind 'unfair' to him. He probably is defensive to me because being defensive is the only way he knows how to solve things. He belittle me because in the past, maybe his kids or wife accepts them. Both of these actions works for him in the past.

By then, my anger turns to pity. I hope I will be a better man when I am older.

Body Mass Index

My gym instructor told me before Puasa that I am over weight by 4kg. After 3 weeks of puasa, i think I have lost some of these weight. My belt has to be set one notch down.

I wonder how long this will last? I suspect after 5th day of raya, all that gained will be lost :)

I won!!!

Revenge is sweet. Remember a couple of weeks ago when I lost to colleague of mine in table tennis? Well...I am back. Today, I won all games played...yeah baby yeah (my poor imitation of Autin Powers) To make the victory sweeter, I was fasting and was wearing my glasses. Sweeeeet!

Data Mining

In my past life, I have been honing my data mining skills that I enjoyed it very much. This is how I describe the perfect way of doing it:

1) My ipod on Metallica - The Black Album, volume @ 60%
2) A cup of good coffee on my right
3) Away from distractions (like in a room)
4) All raw data available in my folder
5) Excel fired up...

Now that I have a team to do this for me, I have to reduce my expectation. They can't do it as fast (masuk bakul angkat sendiri la). Maybe to them, it is work and to me it's fun. Come to think of it, everything is fun to me LOL.

They might be cursing me for asking them to do this....ha ha ha. Case in point, I have a staff working on a spreadsheet right now (12:45am) cause I need the number first thing in the morning.

Subaru Buka Puasa

Meeting friends at RV point. Notice the Civic Type R and Integra Type R

Another view of the cars. We were having a safety briefing (as usual). All sworn to not drive fast. Yeah right!!!!

The yummy satay

The restaurant

We collected almost 300bucks for our charity home that night. It was an impromptu decision. Not bad for a bunch of petrol heads...

It is almost 1 year

I have been blogging for close to 1 year. It started last year during Puasa time when I have time to kill during lunch break. It all started because I was bored and wanted to do something new.

My first blog was at Friensters but after a few months, I migrated to Blogger. I found it (blogging) to be therapeutic as I am able to share my thoughts. I found it also beneficial for friends to know what's happening in my life (as if they are interested lar) and what my deepest and darkest secrets are (hehe...they are'nt any)

Hope I will be able to continue doing this for awhile. Let's see how it goes.

Risk takers...

During a meeting, my staff and another colleague advice me on my habit of driving fast. They told me of horror accident stories and how that could happen to me. They 'advice' me to drive slower.

I laugh at their innocent advice and perspective. To me, life is short. You could get an accident while making coffee. You could get into accident while driving too slowly. You could get hurt if you run with scissors (That's what Bill Gates says anyway). It is all about risk and how you manage them.

Something to ponder: Would a guy get a date if he did not risk himself a rejection? Would Donald Trump make his millions if did not take risk? Would Steve Job be a legend as he is today had he not take some risk with Apple?

Another way of looking at it is this. Would you rather get hurt doing something you love or doing something safe but you dislike? The answer is pretty clear isn't it?

So, let's take some risk shall we? You will never know.....you might like it. *wink* *wink* LOL

Accident on the shelf

Saw an accident in a toy shop. Nobody was hurt luckily...Nobody knows how this Merc got into this situation. Eyewitness mentioned that the driver fled the scene immediately.

Hair Cut

While some had their facial or body massage over the weekend, I had my hair cut today. My hair cut cost me RM9 and I should not be complaining really. But I am gonna (complain) anyway.

The normal indian barber went on a long holiday. I suspect that he has problems with his visa but his compatriots are not telling. So to make a long story short, I had this new guy to cut my hair. There is only one problem, he does not know what I want. Ever tried to tell your hairdresser / barber what you want in some detail and at the end of the session you look like crap? It happened to me today.

Oh well, let's try again in 4 weeks...

Blast from the past

I was on Facebook and saw an old college mate posting pictures when we were in the States. Wow! It brings back lots of memories. I remember playing my new gameboy till late at night when the next day I had an exam. I remember getting caught speeding in Indiana at 92miles per hour (148kph) in my rented car. I remember working as janitor in the student union. I remember the extreme cold weather in winter. I remember playing beach volleyball with some friends. I remember the cook outs. I remember being skinny...

Ahhh....such memories.

Miss my coffee talk

One of the things I rarely do during Puasa time is having a good coffee at my fav coffee shop. I miss the conversation I would normally have, the silent moments, the people watching, the companionship and the smell of coffee (of course!). So anytime I get this nice moments, I love every minute of it.

Maybe I am addicted to coffee (we have established that earlier in my post!), maybe I like the 'my time' or maybe it's the good friend(s) that surrounds me. Whatever it is, here's to my kopi secawan!!

Tonto Club

In the last one month, I have been receiving SMSes on location of roadblocks and speed traps from subaru friends. It's like subscribing to the star mobile news only this is for car enthusiast. :)

This is how it works. There are many Subaru guys running around doing their business and anytime they encounter a road block or speed trap operation, they would sms the club president. He will then send to all Subaru guys to avoid these areas. (Some of us own heavily modified cars and will sure kantoi when it comes to JPJ operations)

This whole Tonto operation is done on volunteer basis. It is amazing what common passion for cars turned into. I don't normally drive Scooby except for weekends thus I would not be impacted but it is nice to know.

Politics Sucks

Malay has a saying , "keluar mulut buaya masuk mulut singa". I felt the current political situation in Malaysia has come to this. It does not matter who is leading the country, people like us will suffer in the long run.

I know I could do a better job running some of the governmental functions but I am not a politician and I have been naughty in the past. My naughtiness will catch up with me sooner or later LOL

I am not a political blogger. I will never be one. I just hate what's happening now.

What is sexy?

If we ask the question above to male and female alike, I would have guaranteed that the answers would differ like the sun and the moon. Some might define sexy as 'having a model like figure' or 'smooth skin' or 'cleavage showing dress' or 'have long legs' or 'nice firm buns' and many many more comments.

My definition is slightly different. It's not purely physical. I can't describe it exactly in words but if I have to, it would be the way she feel about herself and the way she carries herself. I know....it's vague but I am a man. I am not that good in expressing my emotional side with words... (I have to qualify, there are some men who are very good with words. I am just not one of them) :-P

Lots of Money

I sent Scooby for a major overhaul (110,000km maintenance) today. I told Ah Chai to check everything cause I want to use the car to 'balik kampung'. Bugger, he DID a total check and I almost swear (explitives lar) when I saw the bill. 2 grand!

I know what he changed and why, I just cannot believe the cost. Oh well, at least Scooby is tip-top now.

pain

I woke up this morning with a sharp and familiar pain on my right toe. I got another gout attack. Must be the accumulation of seafood and nuts and other high pureen content food I have been swallowing past months.

Believe you me, the pain is unbearable especially when one is 'puasa-ing'. I can't take pain killers unless the pain is killing me (hehe, excuse the pun). There is no actual medicine that can take the problem off immediately.

I am thinking to visit my doctor to seek opinion. I may have to take a blardy medicine for the rest of my life. That's a big decision.

It's like a marriage, you are gonna have stick with it for the rest of your life; only with marriage, you can get a divorce. With this medicine, you can't. LOL

1 hot blogger

Lately I have been following a blog from Singapore. The content is not as important to me as the blogger herself. She is Dawn Yang...a very pretty sweet young thing (go google her and select image to see more provocative pictures). Long hair, short skirt, hazel eyes...what more men can ask for...right? He he....

Ok ok, before anybody flame me for being a hamsap guy, I would like to make it clear. SHE IS NOT MY TYPE but ..... she is AN EYE CANDY. Based on her blog, she likes to go to parties and I personally hate loud music. I would rather have a good coffee and hold conversation with a women instead. Hey, that's just me lar but I bet many guys would swoon and salivate over her pictures let alone in person.

On Holiday

It is so nice that people in Selangor can take a break on Wednesday (me included). I am thinking of going out and do some shopping tomorrow (or rather today). I need a new pants and maybe few shirts. Raya almost here!!!

Friendship

There are 4 stages to a Relationship. It starts as 'friendship' and blooms to 'lovers'. This is followed by a 'partnership' and end with 'companionship'. At each stage of this relationship, both parties must be able to adapt to the change in roles. (There are differences when you are just a friend vs. you are lovers). Inability to adapt may cause problems.

There are lucky people who managed to reach the Companionship level in this game called relationship. Then, there are people who stops at Lovers stage (for example). They can't move on to Partnership due to various reasons. One of them could be the inability to commit oneself to each other at the next stage.

It is important we understand where we are in this game and play our roles to perfection. It's okay to stop at a particular stage provided both party agree on it. Some chose to stay at Lovers stage or at Friend stage. Some chose to take chances and move forward.

It is also okay to end this game and start a new one (with other people I hope). Life's like that. The best thing you can do is enjoy the game at every stage and live without regrets. You did your best and if works out, good for you. If it doesn't, you have to move on.

Number of Emails

I left office last Friday with 11 mails (in my mailbox). I knew who they are thus I did not check my blackberry until this morning. To my surprise, the number of mails jumped to 35! Haiyo, bosses and some of my staff worked during weekends. :)

Here I am blogging as well as responding emails..ha ha. In pursuit of my Porsche, I am willing to work harder.

Track Day

I am gonna miss Track Day on 30th November. It is unfortunate that it coincide with my holiday in LA. This year, I have not set foot in Sepang yet as a driver although I have been driven by Tengku Tjan in a charity event. I was really hoping to join those guys in Sepang at end November but looks like I am have to give it a miss. Sob sob..

Coming soon...

It's that time of the year again....no not Raya lar but my birthday. I am getting older by another year yet I feel younger inside...hmmm how could that be?

Anyway, top 3 'what-I-want-for-my-birthday' are:
1) Brembo 4 pot brakes for Scooby
2) IHI VF34 turbine (turbo, for the uninitiated)
3) Peace on earth (ala miss universe keh keh keh)

If friends or loved ones cannot afford the above, my wish list number 1,453,982 is........ a simple birthday wish.

Bird Shit

I kept Scooby under wraps for the whole week and only took her out today to warm up the engine. Wouldn't you know, the moment I parked in the office a giant bird shit on her!

I say 'giant' because the shit splatted all over the hood. It's quite a lot. It looks like a bird with diarrhea just let go on Scooby. The good thing is that, the shit is white in color and has no seeds or other foreign objects. That's some good shit. LOL

9/11

Where were you when that tragic incident happened? Maybe you were on a plane, or at your nearest mamak stall or better yet - asleep....do you remember?

On that 9/11, I was working in Bangkok on a project. It was like any other ordinary day and after work I took a cab to my apartment. As usual, I would dump my ruck sack on the sofa and turn on the TV. The first thing I saw was this video they kept showing. A plane crashed into the NY world trade center. I cannot really understand what's going on as the news are in Thai (I don't have CNN as the apartment has no cable). I ended up walking to another colleague apartment to try to understand the situation. The friend of mine explain to me the whole thing.

It was a day that I can remember clearly.

Cool Tat

This is a cool tattoo. I love Mario. He was and still is part of my life. However, I would not get Mario tattooed on me permanently.

Measure of a man

What is it about cars that makes a man weak at the knees, salivate and willing to pour tonnes of moolah just to get one. The process repeat itself over the lifetime of this male species many times.

I honestly do not know what it is but I have a hypothesis (as usual) that I would like to share. In the stone age, a man is measured by the number of animals they can kill and feed the family in the caves. The better a man at hunting, the more desirable he is. He is perceived as a good provider thus has higher probability to get their women of choice.

In today's world, a man is measured against the same 'good provider' yardstick. Only this time, it is not the number of 'kerbau' he can provide but the buying power he has. Money is just a tool. If a man has a strong buying power, in theory, the spouse do not have to work hard for the rest of her life. This fact therefore makes him a more desirable candidate as a life partner.

It could be that male species buys nice cars to attract women with their buying power (not the car itself). This explains why some old uncle driving a Ferrari has a chun gf! LOL

As for me, I buy cars for their handling characteristics and horsepower. Looks come third in the order. I see women in the front seat as extra weight I have to carry thus reduces my power-to-weight ratio (no, I am not saying you are fat ladies!). ROFL!

What's worst?

What's worst then having your topless pictures being posted on the net? Having your sex tapes being circulated of course!

This trend of posting of "the birds and bees" session on the net can get a person into trouble or make them very rich. Our ex Health Minister got into trouble for having his movies leaked. (Kesian him cause he did not know it existed until somebody told him). On the other hand, Paris Hilton popularity skyrocketed when her's was leaked. She knew damn well cause she was looking at the camera while doing the bedroom lambada.

The wonder of technology. Little did Dr Vinton Gray Cerf knew that his discoveries will be use as perverts playground. Who is Dr Vinton? I have attached a link just in case you are curious.

EXposed

I was surfing as usual and stumble upon pictures of a Malay celebrity topless! What were these people thinking when they took their pictures in compromising positions and save them? Of course lar it will leaked to the world wide web someday. haiyoo... kan dah kena (btw, she is the girl on the right)

Haven't they heard of Edison Chen scandal?

Up and Down

We all have our ups and downs. Today, somebody killed me in table tennis. I won 1 game out of 8 (maybe 9, oh I can't remember). come to think of it, I used to beat him at will. LOL. He deserve it cause he has been training for months already. I need to buck up....hehe

Sometimes in life it is not the destination that matters, the journey can be more fun! This reminds me of last weekend where I sent my mom to our house in Malacca. I was driving Scooby, with headlights on (during the day) and my Valentine 1 on the windscreen. The average speed was 175kph all the way to Malacca. Boy oh boy, that was a fun ride till I reach my destination. It took me 1hr door-to-door. *grin*

On the way back I decided to drive slower. I was waiting for any car that's fun to 'play with'. None came :( The journey back was predictably boring and uneventful.... which bring me back to my point. We will reach our destination sooner of later but let's have fun in our journey.

I was watching MTV Awards tonight and Lil Wayne was singing a song with no shirt, white pants down on his butt and his black underwear is showing. He looks like he is going back to his roots when his great great great great....grandfather first came as slaves. He has gone full circle now

Hello Kitty World in Japan

Please ignore the lady in bikini (if you can). I wanted to show the Hello Kitty World in Japan. I know of a someone who would love to go here.

New Experience

Some of us may avoid experiencing new things for fear or failure, fear of ridicule or we are too comfy with our life. That's too bad. Life is too short.

Let's experience new stuff today. Who knows, you might like them *wink* *wink*

Images

When we experience new things in life, our mind captured the memories in 'snapshots'. Certain images that are wonderful (or otherwise) tend to stick in our mind more than others and that image(s) represents the new experience perfectly.

Say for example you buy your dream car. The whole experience of getting the key, turning it on and driving it off might be represented by few snapshots of sight and smell. You might remember how the car smell, how soft the seats are, how powerful the engine is, the texture of the steering wheel etc etc.

It is the same as a blooming relationship. His or her smell, the way she/he touches you, the first kiss, the first hugs.....(oops, this is a PG13 rated blog)... I am sure you get my drift.

I love these images in my mind. I wish to remember the good times for a very very long time.

Scooby got new...

..fresh coat of paint on her rear bumper, front bumper and hood. Last week, I sent her for painting and got her back on Saturday. All her 'battle' scars were covered up and she looks 'new' with that fresh coat of paint.

Besides Scooby, Gen 2 also received her new rear spoiler. Daryl from R3 called me on Thursday morning telling me that my spoiler has arrived. I picked it up in the afternoon and got it fixed on Saturday at my favorite workshop. She looks good with her spoiler.

All in all, my ladies (cars that is) got their nip and tuck procedure done this week. The workshop owner is happy guy too I bet.

Hard times

I know it is hard times to some but I did not realize to what extend till I had my dinner/breaking fast today. Last year, I remember how hard it was to book a table at ANY restaurant during Ramadan. Restaurants are always full and don't even think about hotel lar. If you want to eat at Hilton PJ, then be prepared to make reservation days before.

Today, I went to the curve with old friends and colleagues (CFO of Citibank, Regional Manager of Dubai and another Finance GM). I book a table in the afternoon and reconfirmed in the evening before I came. Based on past experiences, they will release my table if I am late by 15mins, so I reconfirmed. They said the table is secured. :)

When I reached there, the place is half full. That's weird. I always saw TGIF @ Curve packed but at this time, they were half full. I realized then that times are hard (for some). Most Muslims may decided to break their fast at home as it is cheaper. They also want to be near their loved ones maybe. Maybe other patrons are still stuck in our endless traffic jams everywhere.

Well, another thing for me to be thankful during this fasting month. I am a lucky man to have what I have today :-)

Traffic Jam Timing

Yesterday I left office at 5:30 and reached home around 6:40pm. Over 1 hr from Subang to Shah Alam. Crazy!

I have a hypothesis. I believe that if I leave office at say...6:30, the crowd will be less and the road will be better. Will report to you tomorrow on the result.

Are you nuts?

I am feeling much better today. My body seems to have my caffeine addiction under control. No more headache or hands shaking. Great :-)

I cannot resist to comment on recent development where a man wanted to elongate his pen*s for his upcoming wedding night. The funny thing is, the nut that he uses to make his d*ck longer got stuck when he got aroused. Ha ha, why didn't he think of it earlier lar, common sense ma..

In the end, he got a doctor to remove the nut. They had to open some blood vessel to 'deflate' his *bird* before that could happened.

I understand his concern of length (or lack of). He must have thought that "length" is a direct correlation to good sex. However, that's from a virgin point of view la. The experienced one will disagree.

A tip - It's all in the head (as in the brain lar!)

Pening pening

2nd day of Puasa. My headache starts around 2pm. By 5 I was dying. I suspect the caffeine withdrawal had something to do with it. Damn you coffee....why can't i get away from you...? Why am I so addicted to you...? LOL

Survive another day without coffee. Hope this body of mine will return to normal in the next few days.

Puasa Time...

I have to admit that I am not the most religions person around. I bend rules all the time. Ask any close friends of mine, it's true. However, when it comes to Puasa time, I do it 100%...no bending of rules here.

I honestly believe that fasting is good for your body and soul. If you were to imagine our body is like an engine. If we keep on running our engine day in day out without resting, the wear and tear will be high. Fasting allows our engine to 'rest' for a while, to take it easy for a month. If done right, at the end of the month, you will be thinner and healthier. Cheap way to diet and it was developed eons ago!

As for the soul part, I am not an expert. Some get it and some don't. I meant the spirit of fasting. Some do it cause there is no place 'safe' to eat during the day. Some do it cause they want to manage society perception. Some don't do it at all. To each his own.

So, to my fellow Muslim, Selamat Berpuasa. To my non-muslim friends, enjoys your serene lunch for a while and let's do a Buka Puasa together.

Singapore girls

Singapore girls *dare I say* know how to dress up. They show more skin (per centimeter square if you must measure) vs Malaysian's and I am assuming they spend more money on make up and stuff too.

Maybe the competition is very stiff there for kwai lo or local guys. I don't mind watching these nice ladies compete among themselves. Sometimes competition is good.
