It is very difficult to order food in some of our restaurants lately. Restaurants are hiring too many non-English speaking waiter/waitress. Even decent restaurants like Tony Roma's and Itallianese are hiring these 'foreigners' as waiter or waitresses.
There are 2 problems with this situation. First, I have to repeat my order multiple times because the waiter don't understand what I want. There were a couple of times wrong food was being sent to me because they got the wrong order. They can't even recommend the food cause they have no clue what it is.
The second problem is I can't understand what my waiter was saying when he repeat my order. I tend to trust that he got it right the first time. If the wrong food was delivered, then it is my fault because he repeated the order and I confirmed it!
See where I am going here? Maybe I should just go to mamak from now onwards. At least you cannot go wrong with "Boss, teh tarik satuuuuuu!!!!"
