Little Birdie

When I was young I was an active kid. Staying in a kampung, I had the opportunity to play with almost all the traditional games there ever was. There were gasing, layang-layang, guli, congkak, batu semban and others la. One the things I really enjoyed was the lastic (aka catapult).

My dad was pretty handy. He carved the catapult base from a tree branch and ask me to make the rest myself. The process is to find old tyre tubes, cut it, tie it to left and right catapult handle, tie the seat (not sure what it's call) to hold the rock then you are done.

The best time of my life was to ride on my bike (No horsepower, only 1 manpower) around the kampung and shoot burung pipit or kunyit out of the sky. I killed many pipits in my younger days. I am sorry for that. Hey I was a kid!!!! I did not know any better.

wish I could say that la. the rate is about 5% only. But if you shoot 100 x then 5 is not that bad. If you multiply by the number of weekends....LOTS...
