Software I like

I have been using notebook since I started working back in 1993. My first notebook was a NEC and it was extremely expensive even by today's standard. It cost me 7K (it came with a printer and state of the are Intel 25Mhz speed CPU) I can't believe I paid that much for the teeny weeny processing power. My car CPU has much much more power than that!

Having your notebook back then forces you to be a bit 'nerdy' cause if you have problem, customer support is not as prevalent as today. So I like to scour the net for free software for me to use to manage my computer.

Today, I have a small collection of software that I use on my personal computer. I use Irfanview to manage my pictures. It is a small software but has good features. I use xplorer2 to manage my folders. It has dual panes and suit my requirement just fine. To manage trojans and other bad stuff, I use Search and Destroy. It's pretty decent software and can be updated for free. I also use AVG antivirus to manage bad virus. It slows down my notebook but if you want free software, this is it.

I am sure there are better software around but I have no time or patience to try them. I found them to be sufficient for my purposes :)
